Running: Don't You Runners Judge Me

Just a quick little update on running.  You know, because of the whole #dreamboard thing.  Keeps me motivated.

Anyway, the last time we chatted, I had just finished my first week of running.  It was hard, but by the end of the week I fell in love with it (almost as much as I fell in love with some Thunder).  I'm on Week Three now and I'm super proud to brag say that Monday night I ran my first 12 minute mile!  I'm hoping and praying that real runners don't stumble over this ole blog and roll their eyes at me because this is a huge accomplishment.  I was seriously stoked after Week Two when I ran a 15 minute mile for two miles and last Friday I did the whole arms-in-the-air-like-I-was-crossing-the-finish-line 13:20 mile.  But Monday night I could not stop beaming!

I turned off my NetFlix, logged on to Josh's Spotify account and embarrassingly blared some Neon Trees.  By the time I got to Smooth Criminal I was holding my side and praying to God this would be over soon.  Then came Wilson Phillips.  I swear, Hold On will get you through anything.  I plan to have it on repeat next time I pop out a little Squish pup.

Maybe I should make a L+D playlist...I mean, I have all the time in the world.  Of course, song #1 will be Push It by Salt-n-Pepa.  Am I right?

Ahhhh, where was I?  Running.  Right.  In conclusion, I ran a 12 minute mile and I plan to do it again.  I also plan to sign up for the Warrior Dash which comes the weekend after Color Me Rad.  #dreamboard

  1. You will love the Warrior Dash!! It was one of my favorites last year. While Color Me Rad was fun... I was disappointed in the non running. There were so many people that you couldn't really run it, you were forced to walk it due to the large amounts of people walking it. Good luck! You're doing great!!!
